I was out for a long walk, with no intention to sketch, but as always, I had my sketching stuff with me. I was walking down Rue St. Claire from Rue St. Jean and saw this little scene containing my favorite thing – a fire hydrant. My stool comes out, I sat down, and the next thing you know, this little sketch was completed. Sometimes it’s the little things that count.
I like this sketch so much that I printed it out and taped it into my daytimer … which I refer to as my iPad. The sketch is a wonderful reminder of my old neighbourhood. Looks like you’re having a good summer! Best, – Sheila
Sorry for the delay. There were a couple days when I was having access problems and then we left for Ottawa (delivering daughter to UofOttawa). Just got back.
Glad you like the sketch. It is typical of those sidewalk-only ‘front yards’ in many of the older, downtown neighborhoods. Lots of great little scenes like this.
We are having a decent summer, though it started a month late 🙂 But we’re still pretty warm even though September has begun. Hope things are going well for you ‘out west.’
Cheers — Larry
