It’s the end of November and things are cooling down, but because of Mr. Nino we’re still having the occasional day that gets into the mid-40s, enticing street sketchers to venture out. But most days suggest the beginning of the long, and I do mean long, slog through winter has begun.
But it’s always nice to catch a break and so I did this sketch of the entrance to my favorite cemetery in Quebec City, the Mt. Herman Cemetery on Chemin St. Louis. Not much to say about it except that it was fun.
You captured well the look of late fall. Sorry to hear winter is upon you. . . It’s definitely arrived here, too. Sigh. . .

Winter is inevitable but I’m sure enjoying its moderate nature right now. Still no snow, just the way I like it. — Larry
That´s a really gorgeous drawing. Love the harmonious colours.
Glad you like it, Viktoria. I love the place. — Larry
This one turned out well Larry! I’m liking the big shapes to the foliage. Makes a great pattern around the old house. Draws you into the detail in the center. Good one!
Thanks Marc. I had to fake the foliage as there was almost none. So I added it to the branch structure when I got home. I still suffer a clumsy hand when it comes to watercolors. Need to achieve a ‘lighter’ touch I think. — Larry
Lovely! But are those leaves I see on the trees? 😉
Hee, hee. Yeah, I had to ‘fake’ the foliage. I just drew branches on site. When I came home I found this photo on their website that showed the foliage structure and I just imagined fall foliage from there.
